wine and fruit and cheese OUR VISION We encourage consumer awareness of the handcrafted wines of Massachusetts and promote a positive business environment for continued growth and production of world-class Massachusetts grown wines. OUR GOAL We advocate for the business interests of Massachusetts wine growers and producers whether they are new or seasoned growers. FARMERS MARKETS The Association successfully advocated for the passage of legislation allowing the sale of wine at Massachusetts farmers markets. Take advantage of the opportunity to buy hand crafted Massachusetts wine at an ever growing number of farmers markets across the Commonwealth. MAFWGA-ID OUR HISTORY Various Massachusetts wine growers associations have been in existence for over the past 20 years, however Massachusetts Farm Winery and Growers Association (MFWGA) began its existence in January 2007. MFWGA is a new revitalized group of growers, winemakers and hard cider producers from across the entire state of Massachusetts. In this short time frame, we have: 1. Begun an association with a lobbyist on Beacon Hill. This way we have a presence and dialog with legislatures and governmental officials that will foster our industry. 2. Begun a website and a traveling show that will promote our industry to the consumer and to new members of our growing industry. 3. Continue to work with UMass Extension in the educational development of our members.
